What began as a small idea at home has grown into a business creating beautiful, design-led notice boards for homes and interior projects across the UK.
Our story began not so long ago, in our kitchen.
Like many busy family homes, ours had a cork notice board covered in invitations, school letters and reminders — practical, but not particularly beautiful. One day I asked my husband, who is a picture framer, if he could put a proper frame around it.
The result was simple but transformative — a notice board that actually looked at home in our space.
Around the same time, I had stepped away from my corporate career and was looking for something new to build. It felt like the perfect moment to see if other people might want the same thing.
Custom Notice Boards was founded in 2021 and has grown from a simple idea into a business creating made-to-order notice boards for homes and interior projects across the UK.
Before starting Custom Notice Boards, I spent many years working in product development, marketing and sales.
That experience taught me the importance of thoughtful design, high-quality products and understanding how people actually use the things they buy. Bringing those ideas into a handmade business felt like a natural next step.
All of our notice boards are made in Birmingham by a dedicated team who grew up here.
Birmingham has long been recognised as one of Britain’s great industrial cities — a place known for making things properly. We’re proud to still be manufacturing products here today and continuing that tradition in our own way.
Each notice board is made to order in our Birmingham workshop using traditional picture framing techniques.
We’re a dedicated team who design and make every notice board that leaves our workshop.

Rory – Production
Rory works alongside Dave and is responsible for the production and finishing of our notice boards, helping ensure each one meets our standards before leaving the workshop.
In a world of digital reminders and endless notifications, there’s still something valuable about having a place to pin the things that matter.
A notice board can hold invitations, children’s artwork, travel memories, plans and ideas — the small pieces of everyday life that often deserve a space of their own.
Our aim is simply to make notice boards that feel considered enough to live comfortably within the home, rather than something purely functional.
We also work with interior designers and businesses on bespoke projects.
From large-format notice boards to coordinated multi-board installations, we can produce custom sizes, source a wide range of frame mouldings, and even create custom-painted frames to suit specific interiors.
If you’re working on a project, we’d be happy to discuss your requirements.
